Joey Feek Health Update: Country Star Is Joyous On Daughter's 2nd Birthday Despite Cancer

In what could be one of the most bittersweet moments in Joey Feek's life, the country singer celebrated her daughter's second birthday on Wednesday with husband Rory.

Joey has been battling cancer since May 2014, just a few months after she gave birth to Indiana. Last year, she decided to stop taking cancer treatment and since then has been spending time with her family.

In a post on the couple's joint Instagram account, a photo of Joey clasping Indy's tiny hands serves proof that the battle against cervical cancer can become lighter with true love. "Some birthdays are more than just birthdays. They're dreams coming true and prayers being answered," the caption reads. Indy sits on her mother's bed and the two smile happily at each other while celebrating the toddler's big day.

The couple also shared a series of photos and a video to give fans a look at the day's activities. While it is unclear if this will be Indy's last birthday with her mother around, Joey looks optimistic and seems to be enjoying the days as they pass by.

The couple, known as Joey+Rory, have been nominated in the Grammy's best country duo/group performance category this year. Although they weren't able to win the award, they are happy to have been put on the list of nominees.

Rory joined his wife at home as they watched the Grammys live on TV. Indy also prepared for the big night and had her hair done by her aunts as part of the celebrations for getting into the 2016 Grammys.

Last month, Rory shared on his blog how Joey's battle continues. The country singer had had bad days and there have been times wherein her condition took a toll on her determination. Despite the struggles, Joey easily gets to smile and laugh whenever Indy gets to sit on her bed.

Joey and Indy also shared how they spent Valentine's Day together in a super heart-warming photo. The mother-daughter pair shared a sweet smooch as Indy was held up by Joey's thin and weak hands.
