Speaking to Time Magazine for her Netflix show "Stranger Things," Ryder commented that Depp was never abusive towards her during their time as a couple. She explained that she understood that the issue is important for millions of women, but she could only vouch for her own experience with Depp.

Ryder describes Depp as a loving, protective person, but doesn't discount the fact that it's been a long time since they were together and she has no way of knowing if the actor has changed. Then again, if the allegations are not true, Ryder sympathized that being accused of being an abuser is "horrible."

Johnny Depp's First Public Interview Since Divorce News

Johnny Depp appeared on an episode on Jonesy's Jukebox radio show in Los Angeles. However, instead of commenting about the ongoing legal battle with his estranged wife, the "Sweeney Todd" actor chose to talk about music. Host Steve Jones did not ask about his divorce.

Depp appeared on the show with his bandmates from Hollywood Vampires -- Bruce Witkin, Robert DeLeo and Matt Sorum. During the interview, the actor shared that he originally intended to pursue music before acting. Due to his dire need to pay the rent, he auditioned for an acting job where he got the role. Since then, Depp has been looking at various acting roles to keep being homeless.

The Hollywood Vampires have finished their European tour and will be kicking off a tour in the US starting July 1.

Depp-Heard Court Hearing Schedule

The divorce hearing for the former couple has been scheduled in August. Heard's temporary restraining order against Depp was reissued. The actress initially filed the divorce late May and the initial restraining order was released on the same week after Depp allegedly destroyed Heard's aparment and threw a smartphone, which resulted in bruises.

Do you believe that Depp is guilty of domestic abuse against Heard?
