Joy Williams’ music career has been flourishing in the past two years after being nominated for a Dove Award both in 2002 and 2003. Her climb has been legitimated after signing an exclusive booking representation with the William Morris Agency.
Charles Dorris, Vice-President and Head of Christian Music at WMA notes, “We’re extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with Joy. She represents the future of Christian music in many ways and has already had a great impact on many, many people. Moving from being nominated for a Dove Award for New Artist of the Year in 2002 to Female Vocalist of the Year in 2003 is a reflection of the respect she has gained as an artist.”
Williams greeted this year with an exclusive management agreement with Blanton Harrell Cooke and Corzine, which also has ties to Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Chaz Corzine. Now, she continues progressing with the newly added partnership.
“I’m so excited to be at William Morris,” adds Williams. “Charles has been a friend for years and to have him as such a vital part of my life feels so natural. It’s important to me to surround myself with people I respect and who will challenge me. I’m so grateful for the partnership with them.”
It seems like the excitement surrounding the deal is mutual among all key players.
William’s manager comments, “We couldn’t be happier about Joy’s signing at William Morris. I don’t know that I have ever seen a team so qualified and so supportive of an artist. Charles Dorris and the rest of his staff understand Joy’s heart and her goals. They bring to our team a history and relationships that will help Joy grow to her full potential.”

What are Williams’ plans for 2004? After finishing a 13-city tour with Gotee recording artist, The Katinas, and appearing on Girls of Grace conferences headlined by Point of Grace during the fall, Williams heads into her studio to work on her next album. The album will be released in spring/summer 2004 while she will be joining ZOEgirl and Superchick on the Free Experience Tour, to visit 40 venues beginning Feb. 2004.
