'Jupiter Ascending' Release Date Pushed Back to 2015 Due to Special Effects Problems
Sci-fi epic film "Jupiter Ascending" was pushed back to February 2015 because of CGI issues, according to reports. Dan Fellman, domestic distribution chief of Warner Bros, said that The Wachowskis needed additional time to complete over 2,000 special effects of the film as well as for the company to prepare an effective marketing campaign.
"With the July release date, they were just not going to make it on time," Fellman said in a statement. "A lot of the issue for us was getting it ready for the international release, since the foreign territories need additional time."
Speculations regarding the reasons for delay are somewhat mixed.

Some fans say that Andy and Lana Wachowski are really geared towards making the "Jupiter Ascending" a masterpiece of perfection, visual effects-wise. While the other camp said that this could be an excuse for the creators to "revise" a possibly poorly written movie plot.
Some think that cancelling the initial July release was about the movie being "sandwiched" between big titles like "Transformers 4" and "Guardians of the Galaxy." Both films had already gained traction among their huge fan bases and performed well at the box office, even though "Transformers" was panned by critics.
"Jupiter Ascending," which is officially scheduled to hit the theaters February 6, 2015 will feature Channing Tatum as Caine Wise, Mila Kunis as Jupiter Jones, Sean Bean as Stinger, Douglas Booth as Titus Abrasax and others.
The main plot revolves around Kunis' character, who learns about her great genetic destiny as heir to Earth. Meanwhile, Tatum's role is of an interplanetary warrior tasked to protect the royalty from assassination.
