Jurassic World Release Date, Latest News: 'It's Gonna Be So Awesome,' Says Chris Pratt
Last week, Colin Trevorrow, director of the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park film series, took to his Twitter to post a picture with the word "WRAP" announcing that "Jurassic World" has finished its filming process. They are now entering into post-production stage.
In the image, they show a picture of the production clipboard between the razor sharp teeth of what looks like a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
This good news could also mean that fans of the Jurassic movie franchise can now expect a teaser trailer sometime soon. Rumors circulating indicated that Universal might unveil some teaser surprise at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, but fans were disappointed as they were only greeted with old promo posters and a T-Rex display.
Meanwhile, lead actor Chris Pratt, who plays Owen, has shed some light on what to expect in the upcoming movie. In a recent interview with Collider, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star said that "Jurassic World" will be worth the wait.
"Oh man, I just wrapped on it two days ago," Pratt said. "They're still working for another few weeks. It is going to knock your socks off. It's gonna be so awesome, so awesome. And to the long time fans of the franchise, it is in good hands. Colin is a huge fan, he is gonna deliver a movie that is worthy of the brand and I swear to you it is just gonna be so good I already know it. I can tell."
As of the plot details, few have been released. The film will pick up 20 years after the events of the original "Jurassic" disasters.
The fully-functional dinosaur theme park has become successful as character John Hammond predicted it to be. Patel Corporation will be running the place where Owen works as an on-site staff, and he will be seen conducting behavioral research on the Velociraptors.
"Jurassic World" is slated for theatrical release this coming June 12, 2015 under Universal Pictures.
