'Jurassic World' Sequel News, Update: Actor Jake Johnson Talks About Sequel Possibilities

It made more than half a billion dollars at the box office during its opening weekend, so it is hardly surprising that Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World" will be getting a sequel.

Actor Jake Johnson, who plays Lowery Cruthers, was asked if his tech-savvy operator will stay at the park.

"Well look, this is Jake Johnson doing this answer, but he's going to be working at the park! [Laughs] Lowery is not leaving the park. If the movie comes back for Jurassic World 2 well hell, it would be a shame if he wasn't there, wouldn't it?" he told Screen Rant.

"Honestly you're asking the wrong guy. My name comes up the second they decide to put my name in and I will move anything in my schedule to do it. Especially with Colin and Derek, if they're back for the second, I'd give a pinkie to be in it," Johnson continued.

Dr. Wu's mysterious exit with a case full of dinosaur embryos could have something to do with "Jurassic Park 5/Jurassic World 2."

"I feel like that was something that we did in terms of plot that opens up a potential sequel, but I think there's things that we did in terms of theme that might be more viable," Trevorrow told Cinema Blend.

Earlier reports indicated that Trevorrow won't be making the next installment and will be passing on the chair to another filmmaker.

"Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie," he said in a previous interview. "I would be involved in some way, but not as director."

"Jurassic World" is now in theaters.
