Just One Lifeline

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. —John 14:6

I'm so grateful that the way to God has been made known to us. God has not said to humanity, "Find your own path. If you are really diligent, then you will eventually find it. You may have to climb mountains in Tibet. You may have to explore the teachings of eastern mysticism. You may even have to call the psychic hotline."

Thankfully, God has clearly told us how we can be forgiven of our sins. Only one lifeline has been dropped from heaven, and that is Jesus Christ and knowing Him. There is only one correct answer to the question "What must I do to be saved?" and the answer is through Jesus Christ. He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

Did any other religious leaders die for our sins, and more importantly, rise again from the dead? No, they did not. They are still in their tombs today. But Jesus Christ is alive. He was uniquely qualified to bridge the gap between God and humanity, because He was the only person to ever walk this earth who was both fully God and fully man. When He died on the cross for the sins of humanity, He became the bridge between a flawless, perfect, and holy God and flawed, imperfect, and unholy people like us.

Repenting of your sins and putting your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord is a decision that only you can make for yourself. He is ready and willing to come into your life, forgive you, and be your Savior, your Lord, your God, and your Friend.
