An intense dashcam recording released by the Bridgeton Police Department in New Jersey on Tuesday, shows the fatal shooting of Jerame Reid, 36, by officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley, when it appears that Reid had his hands in front of him.

A copy of the video, which lasts just over five minutes, shows the officers warning Reid during what began as a routine traffic stop, not to move before the now deceased man appears to push the passenger side door open and alight from the vehicle declaring "I'm getting out" with what appears to be his arms in front of him.

Almost instantly, the officer identified as Braheme, who is black, fires several shots at Reid while officer Worley, who is white, is seen in the video firing a single round.

According to the nj.com, the shooting took place at about 9:20 p.m. on Dec. 30. The video begins with the officers driving through the streets until they pull over a blue Jaguar driven by Leroy Tutt, 46, of Long Branch at the intersection of South Avenue and Henry Street, in Bridgeton.

Days is shown approaching the passenger side of the vehicle and introducing himself. He tells the driver that he was stopped for going through a stop sign. Days asks the driver for his license about 50 seconds into the video, and by about the one minute mark he is seen swiftly pulling his gun and ordering the occupants of the car to show their hands. Worley joins him immediately with his gun cocked at the car.

"Get them out the car Rog, we've got a gun in his glove compartment," explained Days to his partner.
Days continues to order the men in the car not to move and to show their hands.

Both Days and Worley appear to try and keep the driver and his passenger from exiting the car. The driver's hands can be seen hanging from his side of the vehicle.

Days appears to be familiar with Reid in the video because he can be heard saying "hey Jerome you reach for something you gonna be f**king dead."

Reid can be heard saying "you let me out of the car," before pushing the vehicle door open. The driver is taken into custody as other officers swarm the scene.

According to NJ.com, the video was released after an Open Public Records Request made by the South Jersey Times.

"The Bridgeton Police Department as a law enforcement agency does not, as a routine, consider the posting of any such video as compassionate or professional," said Capt. Michael Gaimari, of the Bridgeton Police Department in a release.

"Since this remains a criminal investigation being conducted by the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office with assistance from the New Jersey State Police the administration of the Bridgeton Police Department will refrain from any further comment other than that it fully supports the officers involved as well as the legal process this incident is subject to," he added.
