Justin Bieber, Battery Suspect? Charges Filed by Photographer

Justin Bieber reportedly faces battery charges after an incident with a photographer escalated to a physical altercation. The photographer has filed a police report, which is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

According to TMZ, Bieber and his girlfriend Selena Gomez were at The Commons, a mall in his hometown of Calabasas. The police report states that the photographer moved in to take a picture of the two, which quickly escalated to a physical incident. The photographer then called the police, who responded and noted that Bieber and Gomez had both left the scene.

The alleged victim was then taken to the hospital, complaining of pain in his upper torso. However, he was immediately released but insisted on filing charges against the teen sensation. Right now the police are investigating the incident, which has been classified as a misdemeanor battery.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact detectives at 818-878-1808. Bieber and Gomez are also wanted for questioning, though it is not sure whether the charges will hold up and lead to an arrest or further judicial processes.

Bieber is currently training with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, which has fueled speculation that he did, in fact, assault the photographer. However, he is also preparing to go on the new Believe tour to promote his album of the same name.

The tour kicks off in Glendale, Arizona on September 29.
