Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's relationship may be on the rocks in recent media reports, but the 18-year-old singer recently opened up about his first kiss with the entertainer, love and why he is not more forthcoming about his relationship with fans.

Bieber reportedly revealed details about the first time he kissed 20-year-old Gomez, calling it "scary."

"My first kiss with Selena was the best of my life. It was in the car," Bieber said in a Celeb Dirty Laundry report. "It was scary and spontaneous and it was just awesome."

The young crooner also opened up about his experiences with love.

"What does love feel like? It feels good," Bieber said on the Celeb Dirty Laundry website. "If you're really in love then you should get butterflies. Butterflies and happiness, that's how I feel anyway."

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired last November, Bieber opened up about why he was so smitten by Gomez.

"I am all about genuine people, and I feel like she's just one of the most genuine people," Bieber told Winfrey. "She just has a good heart and I can talk to her about anything."

No matter the context of his relationship with Gomez, Bieber told Fabulous Magazine that he chooses to keep his love life away from his fans for good reason.

"I never like to throw it in my fans' faces. I love my fans and I'd never want to do that to them. It's my private life and I like to keep that separate," Bieber told Fabulous. "I don't have many things that I get to myself, but that's the one thing. I'm very happy. And I know my fans just want to be happy for me."

While Bieber and Gomez have reportedly been involved in a romantic relationship for nearly two years, a source reportedly told TMZ that the pair split right before the new year.

"Selena left Mexico that same day and Justin left for L.A. on the 31st," the source reportedly told TMZ. "They haven't seen each other since."
