Justin Bieber has added yet another tattoo to his body this week, surprising fans with his choice.

The "Boyfriend" singer selected an animal associated with wisdom for his new ink: an owl.

On Sunday, the 18-year-old shared the new tattoo in a photo posted to Instagram along with the message, "Befo the paps get me."

Located on his outer forearm, the black-and-white-and-gray owl is inked perched on a small tree branch.

The singer also retweeted a fan's message pertaining to his new tattoo, posting: "OWL symbolizes: Wise, Magestic [majestic] and Powerful. Best tattoo ever @justinbieber."

Bieber is no stranger to visiting tattoo parlors, and the singer's owl tattoo is believed be his ninth. His first tattoo was a small seagull on his left hip, which he got for his 16th birthday.

Over the summer, Bieber debuted a small Japanese symbol for music on his upper left forearm.

His tattoos also include "Jesus" inked on the left side of his torso, an outline of a star on his left elbow, and "Believe" written on his right upper forearm. Also, the singer reportedly has a crown on the right side of his chest, a praying hand on one of his legs, and an image of Jesus on his left calf.

Despite criticism for having so many tattoos, many are applauding the singer's religious etchings along with his willingness to display and openly talk about his faith in Christ to whoever is willing to listen.

"I'm a Christian; I believe in God, I believe that Jesus died on a cross for my sins," said Bieber in a past statement, according to the Mirror.

"I believe that I have a relationship and I'm able to talk to Him and really, He's the reason I'm here, so I definitely have to remember that," continued the singer. "As soon as I start forgetting, I've got to click back and be like, you know, this is why I'm here."
