The celebrity couple reportedly broke things off at one point earlier this year and some are listing Miley Cyrus as the reason.
Bieber, 18, and Gomez, 20, reportedly broke things off recently, but according to Radar Online the pair also called it quits earlier this year when the Canadian crooner decided to film the MTV show "Punk'd" with 19-year-old Cyrus. According to the publication, Gomez was not happy with Bieber working with Cyrus and requested that he forego appearing with her in the episode that aired last March.
"The first time Justin and Selena broke up, it was because Justin shot an episode of 'Punk'd 'with Miley Cyrus," an insider reportedly revealed to Radar Online. "Selena is repulsed by Miley!"
Despite her alleged feelings toward Cyrus, Bieber still appeared on 'Punk'd' with the actress.
"Justin did the show anyways, which didn't sit very well with Selena," a source reportedly told the publication. "He's been continually choosing work over Selena and she's finally had enough."
The publication reported that Gomez's most recent split from the singer came about after she saw him performing at the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion show that took place earlier this month. When photographs of Bieber posing with models hit the Internet, they reportedly upset Gomez.
"Selena was pissed and immediately texted Justin, which caused the friend to delete the tweet," the source reportedly told RadarOnline.com. "But not before Selena retweeted the photo of Justin and the Victoria's Secret model with the caption '…' which she later deleted."
Despite the rumors of a breakup, a source close to Life & Style said that Bieber and Gomez were working toward a reunion when the 18-year-old singer was spotted spending hours in her New York City hotel room.
"I saw Selena go into the hotel around 5:40 p.m. and not even three hours later, Justin went in," the source reportedly told Life & Style. "I saw him leave around 11 p.m."
