Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were reunited on Thursday just days after reports of a breakup emerged, and the pair has subsequently sparked reconciliation rumors.
Gomez, 20, and Bieber, 18, were both photographed arriving at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills at separate times a day after reportedly spending time together on Wednesday night. They made sure to arrive at the hotel separately in a bid to avoid being photographed together, according to TMZ.com.
On Saturday, it was claimed that the on-and-off couple of two years had split up over alleged trust issues on Gomez's part. Bieber had reportedly been in contact with other girls, which prompted Gomez to initiate the breakup.
"The problem in the first place is that Selena was a little bit of a jealous girlfriend and Justin wasn't really taking her feelings into regard," a source close to the stars told RadarOnline.com.
"Justin doesn't see texting other girls as cheating, but he's promised Selena he'll stop if she takes him back," the source said.
The pair reportedly met on Sunday and attempted to resolve their issues, but Gomez was ultimately left furious and vowed to block him from her life. Various media outlets claim that their split may have involved a Victoria's Secret model, although this has not been confirmed by the singers.
"[Justin] is texting [Selena] like crazy trying to stay in her good graces," the source continued. "If either one of them slows down and they actually have the chance to spend time together again, they will end up back together."
Fans of the famous couple flocked to social networking site Twitter where some urged the pair to reconcile while others applauded their split.
"Justin and Selena please make up, you guys belong together! Ya'll are made for eachother!!" Lara F tweeted.
"So happy they broke up! Selena Gomez is so fake, Justin deserves so much better! I love you," Chiara tweeted.
"Wait are they back together or not? Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber need to make up their minds, this is getting ridiculous??!" Tammie Lace tweeted.
