Kandi Burruss Scolds Nene Leakes About Comments Concerning Dead Fiancé

Kandi Burruss is speaking out about her fellow cast member Nene Leakes from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" after the latter made some questionable comments concerning the former's deceased fiancee.

Burruss, 36, and Leakes,45, recently taped "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 5 reunion show, where the pair's friendship was brought into question by host Andy Cohen. While both women admitted that they have taken verbal jabs at one another, Leakes insisted that she has never taken playful insults too far when speaking about Burruss.

In a clip of the show that will air on Bravo Sunday, Leakes admitted that she has joked about Burruss' weight on Twitter. However, Leakes defended her statements about her co-star.

"No, we can definitely laugh about it ... You know, I feel like if you can dish it out, just be able to take it," Leakes said on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" reunion show. "And you know, as long as I'm not trying to cut you to the white meat and you know, hit you below the belt, then we cool."

However, Burruss decided to call Leakes out for the comments that the latter made concerning the singer-songwriter's former fiancé Ashley Jewell, who died after an altercation outside of an Atlanta strip club in 2009.

"I think that you have done that before … One time when you were on the radio in the past, you said something about my relationship with A.J. and it was about whatever. And I felt like 'Whoa, okay.' That was not cool for you to say," Burruss told Leakes. "So that's when I felt like 'You know what, I don't mess with her like that.' And that's when you got a different me."

While fans of the show will have to wait until the reunion show's premiere to watch Leakes and Burruss attempt to resolve their differences, the singer-songwriter has been vocal about overcoming the death of Jewell with prayer.

Earlier this year, Burruss released "Stay Prayed Up" to share the testimony inspired by her former fiancé.

"The things that I've been through in the last few years is pretty much what I've been speaking on in the song," Burruss told CP. "I get so many people who watch the show and they know that when I first came on the show my ex-fiancé had passed that same year and it was just really hard going through all of the things that I was going through off camera but still having to keep a smile on my face every day and keep pushing through."

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" reunion show will premiere on Sunday at 8 p.m. on Bravo networks.
