Kansas City Chiefs News 2015: RB Charcandrick West Sits out with Injured Hamstring

Kansas City Chiefs running back Charcandrick West wasn't in the team's lineup Sunday in their 30-22 win against the Buffalo Bills. The team announced earlier that West won't be playing because of a hamstring injury that bothered him all week long, though he was initially listed as "questionable" in the final injury report.

Meanwhile, another Kansas City player, tight end Travis Kelce, was able to play in the same game after being listed as questionable after nursing ankle and groin injuries.

In place of West in the starting lineup was Spencer Ware, who is coming from a stint in the team's practice squad after Jamaal Charles went out for the season due to another injury. The same player substituted West last Sunday against San Diego, eventually leading his team by producing 96 rushing yards, as well as two touchdowns.

The 24-year-old West out of Abilene Christian University was signed by the Chiefs after going undrafted in the 2014 draft, starting with the team's practice squad before getting the call-up earlier this month. He got his first start of his career in the NHL during Week 6 and already has produced 373 yards on 98 rushing attempts.

Since their win Sunday, the team already holds a five-game winning streak, in the way beating their opponents by a little over 22.75 points every single game in the season so far.

Aside from West, De'Anthony Thomas is also out and inactive, forcing the Chiefs to rely on former practice player Ware. Aside from Thomas and West, the Kansas City also is missing the services of several key players including Ben Grubbs, Dee Ford, Allen Bailey, David King, and quarterback Aaron Murray.

The 6-5 Chiefs are currently sitting above .500 with a 6-5 record and hopes to improve as the regular season comes to a close, but they would want those in the inactive list to be able to play before the postseason begins.
