Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are said to be planning an over-the-top wedding and reports claim the rapper wants to outdo the royal wedding.
In a recent interview West, who proposed to Kardashian on her 33rd birthday, confirmed that they intend to wed in the Summer of 2014 and a source claims the affair may be broadcast around the world just like Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2011 nuptials. The outspoken rapper, 36, confirmed that he is planning to feature fighter jets on his big day.
"Kanye wants it broadcast around the globe," a source told VH1's "The Gossip Table" about the upcoming wedding. "He wants it to be a National holiday, a day when everyone can take time off to celebrate the world's most famous couple."
William and Middleton's 2011 royal wedding was reportedly broadcast live in more than 180 countries, and an estimated 300 million viewers tuned in worldwide, according to sources.
West, who rented out AT&T Park in San Francisco for his over-the-top October proposal, is reportedly hoping to achieve the same level of interest.
"I gotta apologize to the race of males for turning up so much," West told Power 106's Big Boy adding that he "was nervous a little bit" about the proposal, and "about everything being on cue."
Kardashian, who is set to walk down the aisle for a third time, opened up about her recent engagement to West. The pair began dating in 2012 shortly after Kardashian filed for divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries.
"Complete surprise. I truly had no idea," Kardashian told Us Weekly magazine. "I was shaking the whole time. It was like an out-of-body experience."
In 2011 Kardashian wed Humphries in an over-the-top ceremony and she reportedly raked in $17.9 million through filming with the E! network and by selling photo rights to People magazine, according to The New York Post. The new mom's upcoming wedding to West will reportedly outdo her last one and matriarch Kris Jenner is said to be pleased.
"Kris Jenner is ecstatic that Kim is dating Kanye; she can see their celebrity stock and wealth rising by the day! She has already told Kim that if they make it down the aisle they are going to do it on camera again," a source previously told RadarOnline.com.
"You would think most moms would be keen for their daughter to take it slow..." the source added.
