Karrueche Tran's Uncle: 'I Didn't Think It Would Last' With Chris Brown

Karrueche Tran has said very little since Chris Brown ended their 2-year relationship recently but one of her family members spoke out publicly regarding the breakup during a recent interview.

Hiep Tran, who claims to be one of Tran's uncles, was reportedly not surprised that Brown, 23, dumped his niece.

"He's famous, he hit another girl … I didn't think it would last," Tran reportedly told Celebuzz.com. "[Karrueche's] strong and she moves on. She probably just realized it's not a good idea to be around a famous person and so many problems."

Brown, who was reportedly spotted kissing his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, 24, on Tuesday, confirmed the split on Thursday insisting that "I don't want to see [Karrueche] hurt over my friendship with Rihanna," according to TMZ.com.

"I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna," Brown reportedly told TMZ.com. "I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives."

Brown, who split from Rihanna in 2009 following a domestic assault incident, fueled rumors that they have reconciled on Wednesday when the singers were photographed on a date at Jay-Z's concert in Brooklyn, NY.

Hiep, who described Brown and Rihanna's reconciliation as "bizarre," explained that the singer and Tran were worlds apart and subsequently destined for disaster.

"I didn't think that it would last. He's a famous person and she's a quiet, stay out of the spotlight type of girl," he explained, adding that "she kept their relationship pretty private. We didn't find out about it until people told us."

Tran posted a series of cryptic tweets on Friday just hours after Brown confirmed that he dumped her over Rihanna. The tweets appear to support claims that she feels betrayed by the "Turn Up The Music" singer, who allegedly insisted that she was the only woman in his life, according to TMZ.com.

"Wtf is going on?" Tran tweeted on Oct. 5 before later tweeting "All I'm saying is.. You don't mess with people's genuine feelings. You just don't!"

"Life moves on.. So let's all," she later tweeted.
