Actress Kate Bosworth has revealed her engagement to beau Michael Polish in a blog post describing her recent trip to South Korea.

"On our first day in Seoul, my fiance, Michael Polish, and I venture out to discover Changdeokgung Palace," the actress, 29, wrote in a blog post/travel diary on the Vogue fashion magazine's website.

Bosworth went on to casually write about the details she admired of South Korean architecture and history. "What is interesting about Seoul is the juxtaposition between modern-day skyscrapers, towering over ancient preserved buildings," she penned in her travel diary.

"One can sit at the top of the steps of an old palace and observe the extraordinary detail of a hand painted mosaic ceiling, only to look to the left and see the steel glass structures of today," she concluded.

Bosworth met director Polish, 41, over a year ago, shortly after breaking it off with boyfriend of two years Alexander Skarsgard, who stars in the HBO series "True Blood."

The couple first displayed their public affection for each other at a Coldplay concert in Los Angeles in Aug. 2011, and have been seen at numerous events since, although they manage to keep their romantic life private from the media.

The actress will star in Polish's new film, "Big Sur," which follows writer Jack Kerouac's three short visits to a cabin in northern California, and is due to hit theaters later this year.

She has previously starred in such movies as "Blue Crush" and "Remember the Titans."

The Inquisitr jokingly points out that Bosworth's nonchalant, yet important announcement, almost slipped past members of the media, as Bosworth's Vogue travel blog is dated Aug. 1, and news agencies were just picking up on the news a week later.
