Kate Hudson in Counseling, 'Making It Work' With Matt Bellamy

Kate Hudson and fiancé Matt Bellamy are fighting to save their relationship with intense counseling sessions, according to reports this week.

The couple, who share son Bingham together, have been engaged since 2009. However, Hudson has been spotted at several events without her engagement ring on lately, and the couple are rarely seen together. Nevertheless, an insider revealed that the actress and Bellamy are undergoing regular therapy sessions together to get through the rough patch.

"They've been going to couples' counseling to try to make it work," the source told Life & Style magazine. "They've been fighting for almost a year."

Over the past year, reports have surfaced indicating that the couple cannot agree on where to live. While Hudson hails from Los Angeles, Bellamy prefers his native Australia. During Christmastime, Hudson missed her mother Goldie Hawn's annual holiday getaway in Aspen in order to spend time with the singer Down Under. Once Hudson returned to the U.S., the actress and her fiancé were not photographed together for an extended period of time.

Moreover, the "Reluctant Fundamentalist" star took issue with her fiancé's grueling schedule with his rock band, Muse.

"She can't handle how much he travels and is away from the family," the insider at Life & Style explained. "They love each other but know they've grown apart."

Nevertheless, as reports of their counseling sessions surfaced, Hudson and Bellamy were spotted out and about together looking happy in Los Angeles on Friday, according to People.com. The casually-clad pair are "not giving up" on their relationship, the magazine reported.

Meanwhile, in the past, Hudson has cited her "unconventional" relationship with Bellamy. The actress cited her mother's partner Kurt Russell, whom Hudson calls "Dad" despite the actor not being her biological father.

"I come from an unconventional family- they're not married, my parents aren't married," said Hudson while on "Kelly and Michael Live!" in January.

"So there's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. And I'm going to take the time to really plan it right … And it's a lot," the actress added, before noting that she would not marry Bellamy "anytime soon."
