Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman Phone Calls: Nicole 'Offered Support' Through Divorce

Katie Holmes couldn't have been more precise when it came to her whiplash divorce announcement and it is now believed that she may have enlisted the help of Tom Cruise's ex-wife.

It was surprising for many when Katie Holmes, 33, suddenly announced that she was filing for a divorce from her husband of five years, Tom Cruise. It didn't take long for the world and the actor himself to realize that despite a sudden announcement, Holmes' decision was anything but impromptu.

Less than 24 hours after media caught on to Holmes divorce decision and she had already switched out apartments, traded out for a disposable mobile phone, changed her security, and filed for sole custody of Suri. She couldn't have done it all alone, some questioned, and now an answer as to where the assistance might have come from has surfaced.

Apparently Holmes' secret advisor may be none other than Nicole Kidman herself, according to Us Weekly.

Cruise, 50, and Kidman, 45, were married in 1990 and adopted two children before divorcing in 2001.

"They've spoken over the last few weeks," a confidante revealed to Us. "Nicole has been supportive, saying she's been through it too and to hang in there."

The source also stated that the two had been friends since Holmes marriage to Cruise in 2006, despite the fact that Kidman had been estranged from her children.

"She has been a private friend not many people know about," the source stated, adding that Holmes has reached out to Kidman for help in not landing into a similar situation.

"Nicole offered her support and help," the insider confirmed.

Most of the misunderstanding between both couples appears to revolve around Cruise's belief in Scientology, one which was adopted by both of his adoptive children and has been pushed heavily upon Suri. In a more drastic move, Holmes reportedly even returned to the Catholic Church after fearing that she had been stalked by members of Scientology.
