Katy Perry has reportedly signed a $2 million book deal that includes details about her divorce from Russell Brand last year.
The 27-year-old singer remained mostly quiet about the end of her 14-month marriage to the British comedian, but that could all change.
Brand, 37, has already penned two memoirs and is believed to be hard at work on a third that would include information about his relationship with Perry.
"Several publishers have been after Katy for awhile," an insider told the U.K.'s The Sun. "She decided to go ahead so fans don't have a one-sided story when Russell publishes another Booky Wook."
While other reports are indicating that the deal is for $3.2 million, one thing remains constant: Perry is expected to open up about her romance with Brand as well as their split.
The former spouses began dating in 2009 and got engaged very shortly thereafter. Perry and Brand wed during a traditional Hindu ceremony in India in October 2010.
In December of 2011, Brand filed divorce papers in Los Angeles citing "irreconcilable differences" and issued a statement.
"Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage," said the actor in a statement to the Associated Press. "I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."
Little is known about the reasons behind their split, but Perry's documentary "Katy Perry: Part of Me" revealed that the couple differed over her busy tour schedule.
Furthermore, Brand was believed to have voiced complaints about married life while also hinting that he wanted children.
"[Russell] feels that there's no point in being married if you don't have kids," an unnamed source told Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, Perry is now in a relationship with singer John Mayer. The "California Gurlz" singer is currently trying to sell the Hollywood Hills home she shared with Brand for $7 million, according to TMZ.
