Katy Perry and Navy Concert Kiss

Katy Perry has delivered a special performance for the troops at the U.S. Naval Academy on Friday.

The 27-year-old pop singer announced to the crowd in Annapolis, Maryland that she would be recreating the iconic 1945 photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square.

The image shows a sailor tip the girl back to kiss her, and Perry selected 20-year-old Officer Beasley to pose with her.

Perry called Beasley to the stage and quipped about his age, adding, "I'm a little bit older than you, but it's OK, I'll be your Mrs. Robinson," referring to the 1967 film "The Graduate."

"Now Beasley, listen," she continued. "I have to warn you, if I told you I had a cold, if I told you I flew here with a 101.8 degree temperature, would you still be alright with [kissing me]?"

Beasley indicated that he was fine with it, and while the audience cheered, the sailor tipped Perry backwards before the two kissed on the lips.

Perry shared an image from the night on Twitter with the caption, "Played for some Navy guys & gals tonight. I think my fever broke on stage from all of seamen."

The pop princess has had a busy year and seems to be enjoying her newfound single status since splitting from husband Russell Brand in December.

While Perry remains mum on the divorce, Brand has opened up about his life following the split, hinting that he feels indifferent.

"I'm doing well," said the 36-year-old Brit to People magazine. "You don't need to brush it off if you don't get it on you in the first place," he said cryptically.

Perry is preparing to share more of herself with fans this summer by releasing her movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me" in 3-D.

"One of my main reasons for doing this [movie] is that people think of me as though I'm Dorothy in the ruby slippers," explained the singer speaking to Teen Vogue and referring to "The Wizard of Oz."

"I want them to see everything else that's involved," she added. "Yes, I am her, but at the end of it all, I'm also the guy behind the curtain."

"Katy Perry: Part of Me" hits theaters on the Fourth of July.
