Pop star Katy Perry has been spotted in Indianapolis to perform at the DirecTV pre-Super Bowl XLVI party following her recent break up with Russell Brand.

The 27 year old singer was seen at the Associated Press NFL Awards to present a trophy and mingle with an array of celebrity athletes.

Perry was given the job of presenting the "Rookie of the Year" trophy to 22 year old Cam Newton.

"You'll be the first straight man I've had a photo with in a long time, so live up to it," Perry told the Carolina Panthers player.

Newton replied, "I am," according to The Associated Press.

Perry, in an attempt to maintain her neutrality for Sunday's Super Bowl between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, wore a half Giants, half Patriots jersey.

She then went on to sing her song "Peacock," which she dedicated to devout Christian football star, Tim Tebow. Perry shouted out prior to the song, "This one goes out to Tim Tebow."

Tebow has been one of the most talked about football players of the season. The Broncos quarterback, famed for going down on one knee to pray during games in front of tens of thousands of fans, spurned a "tebowing" craze across America. Tebowing is the name given to the action of praying anywhere at any time no matter what you're doing.

Perry, seemingly mocking recent media rumors that her devout Christian parents were hoping to set her up with someone more like Tim Tebow following her split with Brand, said, "Hi, Tim. My parents say, 'Hi'."
