The 27-year-old will cover the French magazine's September issue in which she is seen rocking the drastic new hairdo while wearing elegant couture designs.

Perry is renowned for her ever-changing locks and has previously rocked various shades including neon blue, dark purple, pale rose, and cotton candy pink.

She recently became a hot topic on Twitter when leaked photos from the photo shoot surfaced online.

Some of Perry's 25 million followers shared mixed reactions to the singer's orange hairstyle, with some praising the look while others criticized it.

"Katy Perry Is Unrecognizable As A Ginger! She still looks beautiful ;) as always!" Anna Andrea tweeted.

"Katy Perry with orange hair is not a good look for her. One of the worst looks she's ever tried to pull off," Ally Burr tweeted.

"Can't help but think this new look is unfortunate timing considering today's Russell Brand & Geri rumors!" Molly Forbes tweeted.

Reports of Perry's new look come just two days after John Mayer was spotted showing off a new hairstyle in Los Angeles.

Mayer, who reportedly dumped Perry in recent days, traded his shoulder-length locks for a much shorter and neater new look after getting a haircut at the Sally Hershberger salon in L.A. on Friday.

Perry and Mayer, 34, had reportedly been dating for at least one month before the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" singer suddenly broke it off.

"She's really upset about it," a source allegedly told Us Weekly with another source claiming that Perry "is making it seem like it wasn't serious with John, but she is hurt."

Representatives for both singers never confirmed their short-lived romance, although various photographs showed the pair on several dates over a number of weeks.
