Katy Perry's light green Grammys dress has stolen the spotlight from the 55th annual awards show this week.
Despite CBS' clear dress code demanding that stars "please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered," the singer donned daring gown on Sunday.
"I was inspired by Priscilla Presley in the '70s," Perry explained of her evening's look while speaking to E! News during the event.
Choosing not to address the low-cut top, Perry referred to the title of Sue Buchanan's book.
"The big hair, closer to God," said the singer of her teased locks. See a photo of the singer at the Grammy Awards here.
Katy Perry quickly became a trending topic on Twitter after appearing in the red carpet with fans sounding off about the star's dress.
Lauren wrote, "That dress was not * mint * for her. Katy Perry. Not a good look."
"And the winner is… John Mayer, who is Katy Perry's date tonight," wrote Charlie.
During the evening's award show, Perry was both a nominee and the presenter. The singer attended the Grammy Awards alongside boyfriend John Mayer, who also created buzz over his fashion choice. The "Born and Raised" singer wore a purple crushed velvet suit.
Kelly Rowland also sparked controversy with her sheer black George Chakra gown.
"I thought about the dress code, and I thought about it again," Rowland joked, according to New York Daily News. "I respect it. See, I wore clothes."
Moreover, other stars such as Adele and Kelly Clarkson left fans disappointed with their fashion choices during the Grammys.
