Rumored to have been together since earlier this summer, both singers avoided cameras while dressed up for the occasion.
Perry, 27, donned a floral dress paired with yellow high heels and a matching purse, while Mayer added a bow tie to a colored shirt under a denim jacket.
Native to Fairfield, Conn., Mayer's milestone birthday on Oct. 16 also saw the "Born and Raised" singer out to lunch with Perry earlier in the day on Tuesday at NYC's ABC Kitchen, reported the Daily Mail.
Despite long-standing rumors of their romance, the couple has never been photographed holding hands or displaying any closer affection toward one another.
Some are concerned over Perry's affair with Mayer, who has been romantically linked to women including Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift, among many others.
One report indicated that Perry's family and friends fear that the "Part of Me" singer will be no exception to Mayer's womanizing reputation, and that Perry will end up heart broken.
"Katy's friends and family haven't taken to John at all, in fact they are worried that she is headed for heart break," said a source close to Perry speaking to RadarOnline.com.
"She's been telling everybody who cares to listen how great John is and it's clear that she is totally in love with him," the insider added.
The source noted that Perry too was weary of Mayer's reputation, but that the "California Gurlz" singer is now "dangerously in love."
Moreover, the insider recounted Perry and Mayer's temporary split earlier this summer and said that Perry was "devastated," but that now their relationship has reached a whole new and more dangerous level.
"Now that she has invested more feelings in John and has let her guard down, there's only one way this can end… in disaster," the source predicated, according to Radar.
Although her marriage to actor Russell Brand ended in divorce, Perry admitted that she has not given up on love and marriage during a past interview with Elle magazine.
"I'm a woman who likes to be courted, strongly. Never say never, I guess you'd say," explained Perry. "I'll let love take the lead on that."
