Katy Perry, John Mayer Dating Again? Pair 'Not Putting Label On It'

Katy Perry and John Mayer are reportedly dating again three months after they abruptly ended their on-and-off relationship.

The pair, who dated for less than one year, was reportedly spotted enjoying a romantic date together, which sparked reports of a reconciliation. Mayer, 35, is rumored to have initiated their split in March.

"They are just hanging out. They are not putting a label on it," a source told The Sun U.K.

In a post break-up interview with renowned talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Mayer revealed that he was "happier" after splitting up with Perry, 28. When asked if the split was permanent the Grammy award-winning winger replied, "correct."

"I'm on the same journey as everyone else. Coupling is a tricky thing ... Listen, it was a very private relationship going in. It was a private relationship during and it's a private relationship, still," Mayer told DeGeneres.

"I can understand asking the question based on some previous answers I have given but I have finally learned how to put the wall between one thing and the other," he continued. "I've been much happier since then. I want everyone to be happy."

Perry, who was previously married to British comedian Russell Brand, reportedly struggled with her split from Mayer and subsequently turned to her ex-husband during the difficult time.

"Katy reached out to him after she split with John, bemoaning her luck with men and Russell provided her with some much-needed reassurance," a source told RadarOnline.com. "[Russell] flattered her with compliments and just listened to her every word. Russell also used his wit to cheer Katy up."

It is not clear why exactly Mayer, who has been linked to various Hollywood actresses including Jennifer Aniston, previously ended his relationship with Perry. In the months prior to their split, however, it was claimed that the "Hot N Cold" singer grew weary of Mayer's motives.

"He's very defensive and comes across as extremely jealous of her career," a source linked to Perry previously told People magazine.
