Both singers were seen getting very close at a FYF concert in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend. In addition to dancing, kissing, and singing along in the VIP section of the festival, Perry and Mayer were holding hands backstage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The 2-day musical festival featured artists such as Dinosaur Jr., Refused, M83, Beirut, and The Faint.
Perry, 27, donned a floral print dress at the concert, while Mayer sported his signature cowboy hat and was seen with his arms around the "Part of Me" singer.
Also rumored to be dating recently single Robert Pattinson, Perry is said to be very casual in her relationship with Mayer.
"Things have been going well and speaking of never breaking up, they consider what they have as strictly dating and in no way exclusive and they both have made the decision to have fun with each other and not make anything super serious," said a source close to the musicians, according to Hollywood Life.
The insider added that the pair has "more a physical relationship than a 'falling-in-love' relationship."
Mayer, 34, has been romantically linked to Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, and Taylor Swift in the past, while Perry's divorce from actor Russell Brand was finalized in July.
While neither party has commented on their relationship, many of Perry's fans are concerned she will end up heartbroken.
"Katy, who's had a crush on John since 2009, has been on several dates around Los Angeles," a source close to the singer told The Sun. "[She] seems to forget about John's womanizing rep and the fact that he disastrously dated her pal, Taylor Swift."
The pair was first spotted enjoying an evening together for dinner in Los Angeles last month, and has reportedly been dating for several weeks now.
Despite her recent divorce, Perry admitted that she has not given up on marriage and that she is still open to marrying in the future.
"I'm a woman who likes to be courted, strongly. Never say never, I guess you'd say," she explained to Elle magazine. "I'll let love take the lead on that."
In the meantime, Perry is enjoying her break from the music industry, as announced in July, in order to "heal" from the pain of her divorce.
"I need to let my heart heal," Perry reportedly told the Daily Mirror when discussing her reasons behind the time off.
