Katy Perry on Getting Married Again: 'Never Say Never'

Katy Perry has not ruled out getting married for a second time following her recent divorce from Russell Brand.

The 27-year-old pop singer finalized her divorce from Brand in February, after just 14 months of marriage, but Perry says that the split has not put her off of love and admits that she is still open to getting married in the future.

"I'm a woman who likes to be courted, strongly. Never say never, I guess you'd say," Perry told Elle magazine's September issue."I'll let love take the lead on that."

Perry was reportedly devastated when Brand, 36, filed for divorce in December although their split was said to be bittersweet for the "Hot and Cold" singer. She was said to be unhappy in their marriage.

"Katy tried to save the marriage. [Russell] made her feel ugly and fat and stupid," a source told Life & Style magazine.

"Katy was crying all the time and screaming about working too much ... it was obvious [the marriage] was close to over," the insider added.

Brand, a British comedian, recently admitted that he too was unhappy in his marriage to Perry. He claims that the relationship changed after their October 2010 wedding.

"[Before] we got married, I just thought, 'I've got to marry her, I love her so much.' And then we got married and I thought, 'OK, this isn't really working out,'" Brand told radio personality Howard Stern.

Perry, who has been linked to troubled singer John Mayer in recent weeks, said that she understands the challenges that come with finding true love and insisted that she does not necessarily need a man to find happiness.

"I've learnt I'm in a very modern fairy tale. But I also know I don't need the Prince Charming to have a happy ending. I can make the happy ending myself," Perry told Mail Online."Being in love is the dream. But the reality of making it work is not like the movies."
