While there is no confirmation from the singer's side, fans and some media outlets suggest that a photo posted by Katy Perry over the weekend is proof that a new album is coming to fans.
The photo shows the word "BYE" artfully placed on the singer's middle fingernail, and more emphasis was placed on the word with rainbow colors seemingly flashing on her fingers.
Although the photo is simply captioned "girl," many fans immediately took it to the next level, with Entertainment Tonight adding to the excitement as the outlet suggested that the cryptic photo was actually Perry's way of craftily saying "F.U." or "good-bye" to her Prism era.

A number of fans immediately expressed their mixed emotions over the possibility that the singer is leaving her Prism era behind and moving on to a new stage, but some also said they were "excited" for the new chapter if it is indeed coming anytime soon.
Meanwhile, a report by Inquisitr says the photo is not really suggesting that the 30-year-old singer is concluding her Prismatic World Tour, contrary to what other fans assumed. This is because Perry's tour runs from May 2014 through October of this year. Being one of the most successful international tours by a solo female as it ranked fourth bestselling in the world, it is doubtful to conclude that Perry is indeed ending her tour earlier than expected.
Some reports also suggest that Perry's next album might be inspired by FKA twigs. According to Movie News Guide, he "Roar" singer recently released a 16-minute video film, which was assumed to be her "consent" for the next album. She also tweeted, "The crown has officially been snatched from everyone."
Fans have waited for the singer or anyone from her team to confirm or deny the rumors, but just as she has been known for, camp Perry has remained tight-lipped, thus adding to more speculations that she is preparing a huge surprise for her fans.
