Country music star Keith Urban has made a complete recovery from throat surgery and is back on stage.

The singer underwent treatment for throat polyps on his vocal cords in November, requiring months of recuperation.

Urban made his first appearance since the procedure over the weekend at the historic Grand Old Opry in Nashville, Tenn., according to The Associated Press.

The 44-year-old singer sang a few of his hit songs such as "Long Hot Summer," "Making Memories of Us," and his latest single, "You Gonna Fly" in front of the sold-out audience.

"The surgery, an out-patient procedure, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of recuperation," said a statement on Urban's website.

Urban was forced to postpone his "All for the Hall" concert benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum last month. The concert is rescheduled for April 10.

The Grammy Award-winner is married to Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman. The couple married in 2006 and have two daughters- Sunday Rose, 3, and Faith Margaret, 1.

Urban is not the only artist who has faced an illness that has taken him off the stage. British singer Adele was forced to cancel a 10-city U.S. tour for a vocal hemorrhage this year.

"I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever," the Grammy Award-winning singer wrote on her website. "I have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously I take it and how truly devastated and annoyed I am by this."

Similar to Urban and Adele, John Mayer recently canceled concert dates and had to postpone the release of his next album because of a granuloma near his vocal chords. The "Half of My Heart" singer's condition required an operation and he is currently recuperating.
