"It was a mutual decision," she told E! News. "We love each other very much. It just wasn't the right time for us and I think if we weren't as mature and adult as we are, then we could have gone down a road that wasn't really nice."

Ozzy Osbourne's daughter went on to assure fans that she and Mosshart were sill "really really good friends" despite their break up.

"It's just that we're not living in the same house, Osbourne added. "There's no dramatic story. I wish there was so I had something to tell people, but no… It just happens in life."

Osbourne's mother Sharon also gushed about Mosshart, despite the end of the engagement.

"Matthew is a lovely guy," Sharon said on her show "The Talk."

"They had two great years together of fun and love, and for me, that's why engagement are so important," she continued. "Engagement are a test run, aren't they? And so it didn't work for whatever reason, but they are still good friends and will continue to be. It's just not right for them right now."

Meanwhile a rep for Osbourne initially announced the end of the television personality's engagement on Wednesday, Jan 9.

"Kelly and Matthew have decided to end their engagement," the statement read. "The split is amicable and the pair continue to have nothing but the utmost respect for one another. Kelly is looking forward to a new year full of fresh beginnings. No further comments will be provided by all parties and we request privacy, decorum and space from the press but don't expect it."
