Kelly Rowland Reacts to Simon Cowell Baby Rumors

Kelly Rowland, the new "X Factor" judge, thinks the show's creator Simon Cowell will make a wonderful father.

Cowell, 53, has been the subject of various media reports recently due to claims of him fathering his first child with Lauren Silverman, socialite and estranged wife from real estate tycoon Andrew Silverman. Although Cowell has not wholeheartedly confirmed the reports, Rowland thinks he would be a classic father figure.

"I think that he is always respectful. Always classy," Rowland told E! News recently. "And I think that he will be like that as a father. He will be a classic father figure."

Still, the 32-year-old R&B singer admitted that it was not her place to confirm media reports.

"I think Simon will be a wonderful father," Rowland told E!. "It's not my news to share, but I do know about Simon and his character. He's going to be a great dad."

During a recent Television Critics Association meeting, 53-year-old Cowell spoke about wanting to maintain his sense of privacy amid the media speculation.
"I haven't read the newspapers," Cowell said according to Us Weekly reports. "Unfortunately at this moment I have to keep it private."

Cowell explained why he did not feel the need to speak more about rumors circulating about him expecting a child.

"There are a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right, but I really have to be sensitive because there's a lot of people's feelings involved here," Cowell said according to People.

While this will be Cowell's first child, Silverman has a seven-year-old son with her estranged husband but was reportedly "unhappy in her marriage," according to People magazine.

Reports may be buzzing about Silverman having an affair with Cowell while still legally married, but her estranged husband is refusing to open up about it just yet.

"This is a very difficult time," Mr. Silverman told reporters, according to the New York Post. "Please keep your distance."
