NBA Trade News 2015: Kevin Garnett, Tayshaun Prince Reunite With Old Teams Prior to Trade Deadline

Kevin Garnett and Tayshaun Prince's respective returns to the teams that made them stars took place before the 3 p.m. (ET) NBA Trade Deadline on Thursday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves reacquired Garnett from the Brooklyn Nets for Thaddeus Young, giving Garnett a second stint with the club that he led to the 2004 Western Conference Finals before he is set to retire this summer.

In a report by the Associated Press' Jon Krawczynski, Garnett had to waive his no-trade clause for the transfer to push through.

Earlier reports said that Garnett is looking to buy the Timberwolves.

On the other hand, Prince, who gave the Detroit Pistons their own memorable in 2004 by winning the NBA title against the then star-studded Los Angeles Lakers, will return to Auburn Hills after the Pistons agreed with the Boston Celtics in a trade that would send Jonas Jerebko and Gigi Datome to Boston.

Meanwhile, a bunch of point guards will find themselves in different uniforms soon as more trades within the day pushed through.

The most glaring of all the point guard trades was the Miami Heat-Phoenix Suns swap involving the Brothers Dragic.

Goran, last year's Most Improved Player, and brother Zoran joined the Heat from the Suns in the trade that, according to Tim Reynolds, also involved the New Orleans Pelicans.

In return, Phoenix got Danny Granger and two first round picks from Miami and John Salmons from New Orleans. The Suns later waived Salmons.

Former Heat players Norris Cole, Shawne Williams, and Justin Hamilton will now don Pelicans kits after the trade.

Later, the Suns traded Isaiah Thomas to the Boston Celtics. In return, the Celtics sent Marcus Thornton and a 2016 first round pick. Phoenix got another good point guard back as it took Brandon Knight along with Kendall Marshall from Milwaukee.

The trade also saw Michael Carter-Williams heading to the Bucks camp together with former Suns players Tyler Ennis and Miles Plumlee. The Philadelphia 76ers received a 2015 first round pick the Suns got from the Los Angeles Lakers.

In another three-club deal, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded Reggie Jackson to the Detroit Pistons and Kendrick Perkins, Grant Jerrett, Tibor Pleiss' draft rights and a protected 2017 first round pick to the Utah Jazz.

The Thunder received DJ Augustin, Kyle Singler, and a 2019 second round choice from the Pistons and Steve Novak from the Jazz. The Pistons also sent a 2017 second rounder to the Jazz.

In a follow-up deal, the Thunder shipped Ish Smith, their 2015 protected second round pick, the draft rights to Latavious Williams, and cash to the Pelicans for their protected 2016 second rounder. New Orleans later waived Smith to clear salary space.

In another point guard swap, Ramon Sessions heads to Washington from Sacramento in a trade for Andre Miller.

Elsewhere, Aaron Afflalo and Alonzo Gee moved to Portland as Denver received Thomas Robinson, Victor Claver, Will Barton, and a lottery-protected 2016 first-round pick.

The Nuggets also swung a deal with the Sixers for JaVale McGee along with the rights to Chukwudiebere Maduabum. Denver received the rights to Cenk Akyol and cash.
