Khloe Kardashian dropped her marital name from social networking sites on the eve of her and Lamar Odom's fourth wedding anniversary, but reports claim she is still open to salvaging her marriage.
The reality TV star, 29, recently reverted back to her maiden name on Instagram following separation reports, but a source claims she is still clinging to the hope of a reconciliation with Odom, 33. In recent months, the NBA veteran has been mired in controversy over cheating reports and drug addiction rumors but the father of two has yet to publicly address them.
"She still wants to save their marriage; she wants him to get better, but there is a lot to work out," the source told People magazine.
"She's taking everything one day at a time and concentrating on herself. Everything with Lamar is very unclear," the source added.
Kardashian's name change follows reports claiming she will not celebrate her upcoming wedding anniversary with the former Los Angeles Clippers star. Friday, Sept. 27 will mark the estranged couple's fourth wedding anniversary, but the reality TV star will spend the day away from Odom as sources claim she is still coming to grips with her marital woes.
"Two years ago she would have thought they'd be happily married with kids. It's been so hard to carry this secret and try to save not only Lamar but their marriage," the source explained.
"[She] never thought she would be in this position," the source continued. "It's taken a toll but she's one fierce lady."
In July two women accused Odom of having extramarital affairs and weeks later addiction rumors surfaced.
"Although the father of two previously insisted that he is fine, sources insist he does in fact have a drug addiction problem," according to TMZ.
While Kardashian is open to saving her marriage to Odom, the E! star's mother is reportedly pushing for a divorce. Jenner, 57, reportedly believes that the explosive cheating and addiction rumors could ultimately have a negative affect on the entire Kardashian brand.
"At Kris' insistence, Khloe did meet with a divorce lawyer … it was something she was forced into doing by her mom. Kris was very heavy handed and said Khloe had a responsibility to her sisters, Kim and Kourtney, and the Kardashian brand to distance herself from Lamar," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.
"It's all about the bottom line with Kris, and Khloe could care less about that. She is still holding out hope that her marriage to Lamar can be saved," the source explained.
