Khloe Kardashian recently opened up about her weight struggles and how her mother Kris Jenner's criticism can be "hurtful."
The Cosmopolitan UK June cover girl, 28, has been hailed by fans in recent weeks for her 25-pound weight loss, but some critics continue to criticize her size. In the latest issue of Cosmopolitan, Kardashian revealed that while the ongoing criticism has been difficult, she is now "stronger" because of it.
"I'm confident in who I am. I've always known that I'm not Kim and I'm not Kourtney– I've always been OK with that. I probably thought I was prettier before I entered the spotlight because being compared to somebody else every day does sort of beat up your spirit and soul," Kardashian told Cosmopolitan magazine U.K.
"But it's made me stronger. I've gained another level of confidence. I'm pretty tough. I want to say I don't care, but of course [comments about my body] are going to sting," she added.
During a previous episode of the E! network's "Khloe & Lamar," Jenner, 56, openly suggested that Kardashian had a weight problem.
"[Once my mom told me] I was gaining weight, but she was talking to me as a manager, like I was ruining a brand deal," Kardashian said.
"It's hard to understand that, and it's more hurtful when it's coming from my mom, but Kim is definitely her favorite. It doesn't bother me. They're so similar– they could be the same person," she continued.
Kardashian is often seen bickering with Jenner, who manages all of her six children's careers, on the family's E! Reality TV shows. While their relationship has been up and down in the past, the reality star has become more sympathetic of her mother.
"I'd never manage my kids!" Kardashian admitted. "We gang up on Mom, and that has to be so hard. Now I'm getting older I feel sorry for her rather than resent her."
