Kim Kardashian Baby Name: North West Chosen Over 'K' Name Due to 'KKK' Ridicule? (VIDEO)

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reportedly wanted their newborn baby's name to begin with a K, however the reality TV star decided against the idea in a bid to avoid potential ridicule.

On June 15 Kardashian, 31, and West, 36, welcomed the birth of their daughter, North West. In an upcoming episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," viewers see the reality TV star explaining why she cannot use a k-themed baby name.

"If we name our kid with a K name, which is kind of what we want mainly just because Kanye and I are K's, but then our kid if its a K they'll call us the KKK," a concerned Kardashian told her family.

The "KKK" is an abbreviation for the white supremacist group known as the Ku Klux Klan, which openly opposes the progression of minorities, particularly African-Americans.

Kardashian, who is of Armenian descent, previously spoke out about how she intends on raising baby North, who is biracial as West is African-American.

"I have a lot of friends that are all different nationalities and their children are bi-racial, so they have kind of talked to me a little bit about it and what to expect and what not to expect but I think that the most important thing is how I would want to raise my children is to just not see color," Kardashian previously told BET prior to giving birth.

"There will be so many experiences … that you won't really know how to prepare for until you really go through it so I think raising a child in general is challenging," she explained.

Kardashian also spoke about her and West's plans for baby North, who is the Hollywood couple's first child, to ravel the world in order to ensure that she is exposed to various cultures.

"Obviously you want your children to travel the world and experience different races and different cultures everywhere, so I think that would be something that is important to me to give as much information as I could," she said.

Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner, 57, recently explained the meaning behind her granddaughter's unique moniker.

"I love the name North. I'm pro North, absolutely, the way she explained it to me was that North means highest power," Jenner explained on "The View." "And she says North is their highest point together, and I thought that was really sweet."
