Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are believed to have named their first child "North" and while the rapper is reportedly fond of the new moniker the reality star is merely "okay" with it.
On Friday various media outlets claimed that the baby girl's birth certificate revealed her name to be, North West. While there is still no official confirmation from the couple, sources claim the unusual moniker has been on their list of potential baby names for months.
"North is at the top of the list of names. "They're not totally sure about it. Kanye loves it, Kim is okay with it," a source previously told InTouch magazine.
"The family doesn't like it [the name] They're going to decide by today [Tuesday]," the source added.
West, 36, and Kardashian, 32, are believed to have picked a name for their daughter that is "sentimental" to both of them.
"[They've] chosen a name already and it's one that's sentimental to both of them," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
"[The name is] something beautiful. They already settled on a name and soon everyone will know."
Kardashian was reportedly rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on June 14 and although she was not due for five weeks, pregnancy-related complications resulted in an early labor.
"She was admitted with medical complications and her doctor made the decision that her baby needed to be delivered. Kim had a natural birth," the source revealed.
"If Kim would have had very serious complications, her doctor would have decided to do an emergency C-section instead," the source added.
The baby, who weighed in at under five pounds, is said to be doing well and both she and Kardashian were reportedly released from the hospital after five days.
"The baby is doing great and has been gaining weight just like her doctor was hoping," a source told People magazine. "The baby has had no problems at all."
