Kim Kardashian Divorce: Kris Humphries' New Evidence Making Settlement Unlikely?

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries will reportedly attend a final pre-trial settlement conference Friday in a bid to settle their ongoing divorce case, but sources suggests that new evidence makes it unlikely that a settlement will be reached.

Kardashian, 31, infamously filed to end her marriage in 2011 after just 72 days, but Humphries, 28, has consistently refused to sign the divorce papers because he wants an annulment based on fraud. The estranged couple will reportedly come face-to-face on Friday for a last ditch effort to settle, according to TMZ.com.

The NBA star reportedly believes that Kardashian, who allegedly made millions by selling filming rights to her 2011 wedding, married him for financial gain. However, the reality TV star maintains that she married the basketball player for love.

Humphries was featured on the special E! Reality TV show "Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event," which aired a special of the pair's over-the-top lavish nuptials. The reality TV star, who is now expecting a child with rapper Kanye West, allegedly raked in $17.9 million through filming and by selling photo rights to People magazine, according to The New York Post.

Contrary to what gossip website TMZ has claimed, the Brooklyn Nets star reportedly has a substantial amount of evidence that he and attorney Lee Hutton are expected to use when the case goes to trial on May 6, according to RadarOnline.com. In addition to an annulment of their marriage, Humphries reportedly wants Kardashian to make a public admission which sources claim the E! reality star is reluctant to do because it could ultimately tarnish her brand.

"The only way that this case won't go to trial is if Kim publicly apologizes to Kris and admits that she only married him for television ratings. Kris just wants the truth to come out and Kim is just absolutely livid that she isn't getting her own way," a source told RadarOnline.com.

Among Humphries' evidence is testimony recently made by an E! producer who admitted to staging scenes on Kardashian's reality show to portray Humphries as a villain after they were wed.

"A person who is truly in love would never have staged scenes of KKTNY that deliberately put him in a negative light without her husband's knowledge," a source told HollywoodLife.com.

Kardashian has reportedly offered Humphries several million dollars to sign divorce papers and walk away, but the Christian Brooklyn Nets Star is insisting on an annulment in a bid to uphold his religious values. The evidence used in the trial could ultimately jeopardize Kardashian's multi-million dollar empire.

"Kris' case will be very simple and straightforward. He believes the key to proving that the marriage was fraudulent lies in the production and filming of the Kardashian reality shows," a source said.

"Kris says that just before filming began on the fourth season of 'Kourtney & Kim Take New York,' he started to have boxes of his belongings shipped from Minnesota to Kim's house in Los Angeles ... she began freaking out ... he was stunned by her reaction ... he subsequently decided to stay in Minnesota longer than he had originally planned because of it," the source continued.

Humphries was reportedly baffled when Kardashian became agitated with him for attempting to move in with her. Critics have suggested that Kardashian put her reality shows and image ahead of her husband.

"[Kris] claims, a short time later, Kim began to bombard him with text messages and phone calls ordering him to come back to New York and be with her because filming was about to start. Kris says he couldn't believe it …. here was his new wife losing her mind because he was having stuff sent to her house in California, but then she has no problem pressuring him to return to NYC for the show!" the insider told RadarOnline.

Humphries' relatives have also spoken out about the marriage, hoping he will be able to get an annulment instead of a divorce.

"It was a sham. My understanding of marriage is people are going to give it more than 72 days unless there's serious abuse," Dedria, his aunt, previously told The Sun U.K.
