Kim Kardashian Divorce: Star Returns to LA After Counseling

Kim Kardashian has returned to Los Angeles after a 2-hour long counseling session in Minnesota which included estranged husband Kris Humphries and Pastor Joel Johnson who recently married the pair.

Although sources claim the pair simply united to gain closure, the possibility of a reconciliation has not been ruled out.

Kardashian emerged at LAX airport looking distressed and puffy eyed but critics have dismissed her somber appearance as a calculated PR ploy designed to gain sympathy from her crumbling fan base.

The 31-year-old reality star received widespread media backlash last week after filing for divorce after just 72 days.

The couple were married by Johnson in a very lavish and televised ceremony in August, which sources say earned The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star an estimated $18 million.

Critics have accused the famous socialite of making a mockery of marriage for marrying with the wrong intent.

Although Kardashian has insisted she married for love and "...had hoped this would last forever," the internet is abuzz with claims the wedding was a calculated publicity stunt that was motivated by greed.

Humphries, an unemployed NBA star claims he knew nothing about the divorce, and allegedly learned Kardashian had filed last week through online gossip website TMZ.com.

Still said to have been wearing his wedding band when approached by TMZ, Humphries 26 said he was "devastated" after learning about the divorce.

Despite Humphries' claims that he was "blindsided by the divorce", Kardashian's camp insist he was aware there were cracks in the relationship even before the wedding took place.

When asked why she went ahead with the wedding if she knew she was unhappy in her relationship, Kardashian claims she got caught up in all the wedding "hooplah."
