Kim Kardashian fell ill on Christmas day and reports that she was being treated for acute morning sickness sent social networking site Twitter into overdrive, with fans speculating whether the reality star is pregnant with Kanye West's child.

The 32-year-old tweeted about her health during and after the festive holiday and several media outlets claimed that while initially she was thought to have had a cold, a medical doctor determined that Kardashian was suffering from a condition similar to that of Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

"Getting the flu on Christmas is no bueno. I hope it passes soon :-(," Kardashian tweeted on Dec. 25. The following day she wrote "In bed with the flu all day. Praying this goes away fast! Ummm @BrittGastineau u jinxed me! LOL."

One source denied that Kardashian, who has been dating West for one year, is expecting his child and attributed the reality star's recent weight gain to the holiday season.

"I do know that Kim wants to be a mom, but she first wants to get married or at least engaged," the Kardashian family friend told HollywoodLife.com. "If she looks bigger, its only because holiday eating!"

The pregnancy speculation follows recent reports of a looming engagement following statements made by Kardashian's best friend and mentor Jonathan Cheban. The PR guru revealed that Kardashian will get engaged to the 35-year-old rapper as soon as her divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries is finalized.

"It would be great [if Kim and Kanye get married]! She needs to get divorced first, though. When [Kris Humphries] is done playing games, I guess she'll get engaged," Cheban told Life & Style magazine at Gabrielle's Angel Foundation 2012 Angel Ball.

Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner, 56, is also said to be thrilled about the prospect of her daughter having a third marriage. The twice married mother of six reportedly wants Kardashian and West to film their nuptials with the E! Network.

"Kris Jenner is ecstatic that Kim is dating Kanye; she can see their celebrity stock and wealth rising by the day! She has already told Kim that if they make it down the aisle they are going to do it on camera again," a source close to the Kardashian family reportedly told RadarOnline.com.

"You would think most moms would be keen for their daughter to take it slow, especially seeing as Kim's divorce still isn't finalized from the last fiasco," the source added.
