Kim Kardashian, Katie Couric Feuding? Twitter Post Slams 'Fake Media Friends'

Kim Kardashian took aim at "fake media friends" including Katie Couric via Twitter on Friday after the talk show host's sharp remarks.

In June, Kardashian and her boyfriend Kanye West welcomed baby North West into the world, and Couric sent over a baby gift as well as a note, which Kardashian shared via Instagram.

"Dear Kim and Kanye," started the note depicted in Karsdashian's Instagram post.

"Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl," Couric's note continued before the former "Today" show host "humbly" suggested ideas for the child's name and signed off, "Fondly, Katie Couric."

Despite the nice gesture in June, Kardashian now appears to have taken offense after Couric was quoted allegedly dissing the Kardashian family while speaking to In Touch Weekly.

"I don't understand - why are they so famous," the 56-year-old "Katie" talk show host asked of the Kardashian clan, according to In Touch. "I think it's mostly teenage girls that are interested."

In retaliation on Friday, Kim Kardashian posted the photo of Couric's congratulatory note along with a scathing caption: "#IHateFakeMediaFriends #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkSh--."

The 32-year-old star is not the only celebrity slamming Couric of late.

Earlier this month, Jennifer Aniston asked her friend and talk show host Chelsea Handler if Couric was a "legitimate journalist" after learning Couric had inquired about her personal life.

The 44-year-old "We Are the Millers" star is engaged to actor Justin Theroux, and is no stranger to tabloid fodder over issues in her personal life.

Adding to the Aniston's irritation with the media, Handler informed Aniston that, while on the "Katie" show, Couric had asked Handler about Aniston's upcoming wedding.

"Katie Couric was asking me on her show about your wedding and I had to act like I didn't even know you were engaged because I didn't know that was out," said Handler on her television show "Chelsea Lately" earlier this month.

"Then she was like, 'Well, everyone knows about it!' So I felt really stupid," 38-year-old Handler added.

Leaving no doubt about her annoyance, Aniston replied, "What's Katie Couric? Is she a legitimate journalist? Is she getting tabloid-y? Wasn't she on the 'Today' show?"

"She was on the 'Today' show," Handler answered. "She got a demotion to her own show."

Furthermore, Aniston may not be the only person questioning the journalistic integrity found on "Katie."

The actress' comments about "Katie" arose just weeks after reports indicated that Couric was displeased about the "gossipy" direction in which her show may be headed.

"If there is one thing Katie hates more than being called 'perky' its being called 'tabloid,'" a source at the New York Post revealed in July. "She thinks of herself as a serious journalist, covering stories that make a difference. She's fighting this."
