Kim Kardashian came in second on Forbes list of top-paid television actresses, which confused and angered many people wondering why a reality television star was referred to as a "thespian" by the publication.
Although "Modern Family" actress Sofia Vergara topped the Forbes list after raking in $19 million from her work on the show along with Burger King, Kmart, Cover Girl, Comcast, State Farm and Diet Pepsi, Kardashian ranked second on the list. The 31-year-old reality television star was named the second highest earning actress this year, much to the confusion of Forbes's readers.
The publication explained why Kardashian's name was mentioned on the list.
"Kardashian, whose family just re-upped their contract with E! for $30 million, kept busy in 2012 with 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' and keeping up appearances in the wake of her quickie divorce," the Forbes article reads. "We estimate Kim earned $18 million between May 2011 and May 2012."
Some people still took to Twitter to question why Kardashian was placed on the list as an actress since she allegedly lives her real life out in front of cameras in a show that is not scripted.
"Kim Kardashian is an actress," one person questioned on Twitter.
Another person noticed that the reality star was no thespian and called her out for making the list.
"Lacking talent pays big dividends," the person tweeted
Still, another person speculated about what established actresses would feel after seeing the list.
"Kim Kardashian is being considered an actress," the person questioned on Twitter. "Wow actors every where are killing themselves laughing."
While the top 10 actresses featured on the list do include established actresses such as Eva Longoria, Zooey Deschanel and Felicity Huffman, reality television personalities also accounted for three people in the top 10 listing. Kardashian's sister Khloe was named number five on the list while "Real Housewives of New York City" reality television star turned talk show host Bethenny Frankel was named at number four.
