Kim Kardashian was recently photographed in a prison orange jumpsuit, sparking debate over why she was wearing the outfit.

However, the reality star was wearing the costume for innocent reasons, as she was actually just guest starring in an upcoming episode of Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva."

Kardashian is better known for wearing a full range of designer gear, however, she drops her usual image for the prison orange in an episode airing on Sunday, Aug. 26.

Kardashian guest stars in the show in several episodes as Nikki LePree, according to MSNBC. But unlike Kardashian, Nikki LePree in the program is guilty.

LePree showed up earlier this summer, and at that time she befriended Stacy (April Bowlby), and the story line played out having her planning to open up a "Pake shop" (pie + cake) with her.

However, the deceiving LePree instead ended up stealing her life savings.

But soon in the upcoming episodes the police will catch up with LePree, and if Kardashian's photos are any indication she will get caught and end up in prison.

"Her character goes head to head with Jane," explained show creator Josh Berman.

"She's got a fantastic twist."

"We wrote her a three episode arc," Berman told the Hollywood Reporter. "But once she got on set and I was with her I got to see what her strengths were and we got to write to those."

You can catch Kim Kardashian on Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" at 9 p.m. ET
