Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reportedly turned down a lucrative offer for their unborn baby's first post birth photos, and a new report suggests that Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner was behind the decision.

On Monday fans of the reality TV family were stunned to learn that Kardashian, who makes a substantial amount of money by selling her reality show, had declined a $3 million offer from a major US tabloid, TMZ claimed. It has since been revealed that Jenner, 56, reportedly advised Kardashian and West not to accept in pursuit of more cash.

"Kris instructed Kim and Kanye to NOT sell photos of their baby for a mere $3 million! Kris thinks they could get double the amount," a source told HollywoodLife.

Optimistic fans had hoped that Kardashian, who has become known for cashing in on seemingly endless endorsement deals, may have been taking a new stance in the wake of her pregnancy. However, sources suggest that this is not the case and in conjunction with wanting more money, West, 35, is also eager to wait before selling their baby's photos due to superstition.

"The main reason that Kim is not selling her pics yet is because she knows she will get more money once it gets closer to the birth, and also she doesn't want to sell the pics yet because Kanye thinks that it is bad luck," a source said.

"He thinks that if they sell now, and something goes wrong with the pregnancy then he would definitely think that is the reason," the insider continued. "He is very superstitious!"

Kardashian and West's baby has become one of the most highly anticipated baby births of 2013, and critics anticipate that the child could generate a substantial amount of cash for the Hollywood power couple.

Kris Jenner is said to be "ecstatic" that she is going to be a grandmother again and she is said to be eager for Kardashian to divorce her estranged husband Kris Humphries so that she can get engaged to West. Jenner is reportedly pushing the idea of marriage in a bid to maintain juicy plots for the family's popular E! reality TV show.

"Kris Jenner is ecstatic that Kim is dating Kanye; she can see their celebrity stock and wealth rising by the day," a source close to the Kardashians told RadarOnline.com. "She is pushing hard for Kim to get her claws into Kanye and would love it if he proposed. She has already told Kim that if they make it down the aisle they are going to do it on camera again; there's just too much money to be made for Kris to allow this to be done privately."

"You would think most moms would be keen for their daughter to take it slow, especially seeing as Kim's divorce still isn't finalized from the last fiasco. But, Kris just marks Kris Humphries down as a major mistake to be forgotten and is eager for Kim to move on to bigger and better things, which, she believes, Kanye definitely is," the source added.
