'King of Fighters XIV' Release Date News: Game Exclusive to PS4, Andy Bogard Added to Roster

Upcoming 2016 fighting game series "King of Fighters XIV" is going to be a console-exclusive game. According to a report by IGN, developer and publisher SNK Playmore has announced through an official "King of Fighters XIV" press release that the latest installment of the series will be available exclusively on PlayStation.

The studio also publicized that the game will be playable for the first time at the PlayStation Experience 2015, which is a video gaming event that will take place in San Francisco, California on Dec. 5 to Dec 6. During the event, fans can try out and play with the demo game.

Aside from the announcement of the game being console-exclusive, a new character is revealed to be added in the roster. International Business Times reported that fan favorite character and series veteran Andy Bogard is the latest one to be included in the game. The character is known to be the brother of Fatal Fury protagonist Terry Bogard.

His return to the series is confirmed via the third released trailer of the fighting game. In the trailer, Andy Bogard is seen flaunting some action and moves against an opponent. And although he is seen in the footage for a brief moment only, Crunchy Roll noted that he now sports a new look with his different haircut and some stylish new threads. Other returning characters added in the roster include Leorna Heidern, Chang Koehan, Kyo Kusunagi and Iori Yagami.

With regards to the visuals, Shoryuken noted that the game needs improvement in the graphics department. However, SNK Playmore has been listening to comments and feedbacks and has even released screenshots in order to show a sneak peek of the tweaks that they have been doing with the graphics of the game.

As of now, it's not determined yet if the game will eventually be available in other platforms but fans can expect the game to come sometime in 2016.
