'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date & News: No Official Date Yet, Square Enix Works With No Inhibition from Disney

The year is almost coming to an end but fans who have been waiting for the action role-playing game "Kingdom Hearts 3" will have to wait a little longer. The upcoming game was initially slated to be released sometime in 2016, but recent reports says that it won't be coming out any time soon next year.

According to The Eastern Progress, the game is expected to come around late 2017 and it's due to the recently announced "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue," which was revealed during the Tokyo Game Show 2015.

This means that instead of the third installment of the game, fans will be able to catch sight first of a remastered HD edition of "Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance," a movie detailing the happenings of the mobile game called "Kingdom Hearts X (Chi) Back Cover" and last but not the least, the long anticipated "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Volume 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage."

But there's no need to be disappointed because there's still a reason to be excited. The source mentioned that the "Birth by Sleep Volume 0.2" will give players a sneak peek of what "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be like since the original plan was to incorporate it in the third game.

In other news, Disney have been lenient with Square Enix's work with the game. According to Segment Next, there is plenty in the game that Disney is letting the developers create, which of course, entails a lot of time. But Tetsuya Nomura, the game director, revealed that Disney is not inhibiting anything.

"I don't feel they inhibited anything. The Disney worlds that appear within our game are their franchise so they're interested in maintaining those worlds," said Nomura said. "But anything unique to Kingdom Hearts hasn't been a source of disagreement from Disney."

It goes to show that Disney is trusting the studio's creativity to carry the franchise well. Although there's still no definite release date for the game, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is definitely going to be an interesting game.
