'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date News: Square Enix Game To Be Unveiled By November 3? Tetsuya Nemura Did Some Explaining

It's been a while now and fans are already hankering for more information about the official release date of the upcoming action role-playing game from Square Enix, "Kingdom Hearts III." It is the 11th title in the "Kingdom Hearts" game franchise and the first to be introduced on a Microsoft (Xbox One) platform.

Speculations regarding the game's unveiling date were based upon the announcement that Disney made back in July. Citing the details from MoviePilot.com, the distributing company said that they would be hosting a Kingdom Hearts event for Japan's 2015 D23 which is slated to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 3. However, the website was a bit pessimistic that KH3 would appear on that date at all. Nonetheless, the hope for a 2015 release is still burning bright especially with this recent statement from the game director, Tetsuya Nemura.

Nemura, who sat down with the people at GamesTM revealed that the game is eventually coming. He did, however, divulged that the team "had to start from the ground again" since they switched engines. He admitted that the "transition was quite a process." The director also mentioned the studio's need to develop a "Kingdom Hearts-specific shader" plus "a lot of adjustments" to fully integrate the function into the new engine they are using.

"That goes a long way to explaining the long distance between the announcement and now, when we're able to reveal more information about the title," he was quoted as saying.

The mind behind the smash hit franchise did share some insights on what to expect in KH3. He teased about the "many bold additions" particularly in terms of combat. When asked to confirm the rumors of more than one playable character, Nemura opted to keep mum on the details saying that "it's a secret" and they "can't disclose anything yet."
