Kingdom Hearts 3 Still Has No Release Date, Character From 'Frozen' to Appear

"Kingdom Hearts 3," Square Enix and Disney's collaboration game, is already confirmed to be in development as announced during last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, but a release date has not been announced yet.

The title will be seeing Sora return as the protagonist of the game as well as the return of Riku, Donald Duck, Goofy, and King Mickey as well as other familiar Disney characters from various Disney films. "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be following from the story of "Dream Drop Distance" and will be the final chapter to the "Dark Seeker" saga.

It's been more than a year since Square's announcement of the game and news regarding the release of the game has been scarce. Some two months back, it was reported that Square Enix had moved KH3 director Tetsuya Nomura from his directing duties on Final Fantasy XV to full time directing of KH3. Being one of the original creators of the series, the move made sense.

Later, it was revealed that the game would be running from Square Enix's in-house game engine, the Luminous engine, to the Unreal Engine 4. This had initially set the development process back but Nomura had gotten things back on track.

As for the release, an exact date is unknown but it is speculated that the game would see a release sometime in late 2015. There are also rumors that a character from the latest Disney film "Frozen" would be appearing in the game.

Co-director Tai Yusue had mentioned incorporating a character from Disney's highest-grossing animated film in a world from "Mulan" known as Land of Dragons.
