'King's Quest: A Knight to Remember' Coming in July

The upcoming adventure game reboot "King's Quest: A Knight to Remember," is finally coming to PC, the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in "late" July, according to reports.

"A Knight to Remember" is the first chapter of five chapters that will be downloadable for the game. The game was revealed at the GDC 2015 and generated some excitement for gamers who were into old-school adventure gaming.

The game will star Christopher Lloyd as an old King Graham, Josh Keaton as a young Graham, Maggie Elizabeth Jones as Gwendolyn, and Zelda Williams as Amaya the Blacksmith. According to IGN, it is "the bold reimagining of one of adventure gaming's most memorable franchises."

This new game is not a sequel to any of the "King's Quest" games, the latest of which was "King's Quest: Mask of Eternity" published in 1998. It, however, still features the game's main protagonist, King Graham, but this time, he is sharing his stories of adventure to his granddaughter Gwendolyn.

The new game is heavy on puzzle-solving, and it also features many ways of solving a puzzle or destroying an enemy. Anything a player does stays with him or her until the end of the game.

According to an IGN review, the game is a "delightful surprise" for "old-school adventurers."

"It seems to capture the spirit of the original games, if not the game mechanics, with razor-sharp writing, gorgeous production values, and tons of Easter eggs and call-backs to the franchise. Even little things, like the use of King's Quest 5's interface and a random sound effect from King's Quest 6, make the new King's Quest seem less like a relaunch and more like the return of an old friend," the publication stated.
